Indie Narration Pricing

Audiobooks make stories accessible. I feel very strongly that every book should have an audiobook version. However, I understand the dichotomy between indie publishing not being a goldmine and the fact that I need to make a living.

If you feel you cannot afford these prices, please contact me as I am always up to negotiate. I do payment plans, and I also do not have any additional fees. (e.g. charging for pickups/corrections, special requests to change character voices, etc - within reason)

Tier One

Author published through small press.

Novel (Anything over 40,000 words)

- $200 per finished hour.

Example: 8 hour audiobook - 8 hours x 200 = $1600

Totals are rounded to the nearest quarter hour.

Tier Two

Self-published author. More than one book available, strong following, and reviews.

Novel (Anything over 40,000 words)

- $170 per finished hour.

Example: 8 hour audiobook - 8 hours x 170 = $1360

Totals are rounded to the nearest quarter hour.

Tier Three

Self-published, looking to build a brand, small following.

Novel (Anything over 40,000 words)

- $150 per finished hour.

Example: 8 hour audiobook - 8 hours x 150 = $1200

Totals are rounded to the nearest quarter hour.

Tier Four

First self-published book.

Novel (Anything over 40,000 words)

- $130 per finished hour.

Example: 8 hour audiobook - 8 hours x 130 = $1040

Totals are rounded to the nearest quarter hour.

Tier Five

Short Story “Shorty” Est 5,000 words - Flat fee $50

Short Story Est 10,000 words - Flat fee $100

Novella up to 30,000 words - Flat fee $400

- Novellas between 30K and 40K

will have an extra $75 fee.

Service Name

Books over 125K word count will require a service fee of +$25 per finished hour.

Example:

- 125,000 words is approximately 14 recorded hours

- Audiobook is 17 hours, therefore

- 14 hours x 130 = $1820

- 3 hours x 130+25 = $465

- Total audiobook cost = $2285
